A lot of people career in dog training know boxer dogs to be one of the most versatile breeds around, having the capability of adapting to any role, such as that of a guard dog, a police dog, a seeing-eye dog for the blind, a family pet or a working dog.

What few know is that the boxers actually career in dog training originates from a breed that was primarily trained and used for hunting purposes, the Belgian Brabanter Bullenbeisser. In order to understand how hunting boxer dogs can be made career in dog training efficient, we first need to go back a few hundred years and take a short look at the Brabanter Bullenbeisser.

The Brabanter Bullenbeisser was the hunting dog of choice in 19th career in dog training century Belgium and later on Germany. It was a strong, agile, intelligent breed that could take on almost any hunt, whether it was for game, wild career in dog training boar, bears and so forth.

The Bullenbeisser’s build closely resembles that of today’s boxer, however their head was pointier and their ears longer.

Because the dogs would often get ear injuries career in dog training in their fast paced chases through the woods, most owners would crop their ears since they were puppies. This is also a common practice used on hunting boxer dogs, although career in dog training a boxer’s ears are not as large as those of the Brabanter Bullenbeisser.

Eventually, the hunting boxer dog took the Bullenbeisser’s place, mostly because of the fact career in dog training that boxers were a lot easier to train. They also excel in several other characteristics, such as having a great intuition, being extremely fearless and obedient, career in dog training all of these qualities recommending hunting boxer dogs as one of the best breed to be used for such a purpose.

Their physical qualities are also worth career in dog training mentioning here, an adult hunting boxer dog reaching around 22 inches in height (calculated at the dog’s shoulder) and at roughly 65 pounds. Despite having such a strong constitution, career in dog training the boxer remains a very agile dog, his speed and reactions proving crucial in fast paced hunts.

In a hunt, the cooperation between the dogs and the hunters career in dog training as well as among the dogs themselves is oftentimes of extreme importance. For this reason, hunting boxer dogs are preferred to many breeds, because they can adapt to “teamwork” career in dog training and they’re extremely obedient and loyal towards their owners (if trained right, obviously).

If a pack of hunting boxer dogs is trained together since their early career in dog training years, they’ll learn to cooperate and help each other out in the chase, as well as in fights. Another great asset that hunting boxer dogs possess career in dog training is that they can also “work” with other breeds of hunting dogs. They do need a bit more accommodation to the other dogs, since boxers are rather career in dog training suspicious at first, but once they get accustomed to their hunting companions this suspicion fades out.

So if you’re thinking about getting a hunting dog to help you out in your runs, career in dog training a boxer is one of the best choices you could make. Their physical prowess and dominant personalities will give you a huge helping hand, career in dog training regardless if you’re hunting fast, smart or strong game.

I have had many dog obedience training clients who have purchased a protection dog from me after having been the victim of a violent crime. These are some of the best deliveries because I know that their chances of having anything else happen will now be minimal. Plus, the victim will often say that getting a protection dog has made dog obedience training them feel safe again. It’s great to know that our dogs are helping some of our clients in ways that go beyond just providing security.

While training, dog obedience training we often reenact situations and scenarios that are most likely to occur in reality. In fact, I listen closely to our clients who have been in violent situations and tailor dog obedience training the training around the crime with the addition, of course, of a protection dog. As you can image, adding the dog makes the outcome completely different!

Sometimes I hear dog obedience training other trainers say that they never allow their dogs to “interpret a situation” and that their dogs will only become defensive on command, when you tell dog obedience training them to.

I understand the motive behind this and agree to a point. It’s true, it is very important that the handler has complete control over dog obedience training a highly trained and possibly lethal protection dog. However, I have found through the years and from my clients that, when put in extreme circumstances, sometimes dog obedience training it is okay to allow the dog to come to your defense without receiving a verbal command. The key is to train the dog to understand not only verbal direction dog obedience training but physical cues as well. It can be done.

One of my female clients who had been the victim of a vicious assault by a stranger spoke dog obedience training in detail about how the crime was committed against her. In training I keep what she said in mind. In her circumstances, a stranger struck her from behind, dog obedience training in the back of the head, in an effort to incapacitate her.

Lying on the ground but still conscious, she described the state of shock dog obedience training she went into. She explained that she was not able to speak immediately after being hit. Fortunately, she escaped but even as she dialed 911 her speech dog obedience training was extremely slurred and she was confused as a result of the head trauma.

This is a perfect example of when a protection dog needs to understand that his or her handler needs them to come to their defense. dog obedience training Although the victim would not have been able to give a verbal command, our dogs are trained to take physical cues from their handler. In this situation, dog obedience training the protection dog would have jumped into defensive mode and targeted the wrist of the hand holding the weapon. The dog would have continued to bite dog obedience training until the person left. This crime would most likely be prevented all together if the protection dog had been present since the dog is a visual dog obedience training deterrent alone.

Another situation would involve someone breaking into your home as you sleep. The dog must protect you even as you are awakening and not able to fully dog obedience training comprehend the danger you are in. Given the dog’s superior sense of smell, an unknown person shouldn’t even make it a few feet past the front dog obedience training door.

I know that this treads a fine line since, obviously, you don’t want your protection dog to defend you when, say, someone bumps your shoulder. dog obedience training So we at CCK9 focus on the difference and train our dogs to come to your defense when your body language demonstrates exceptional fear. Also, dog obedience training without a doubt, your protection dog will always respond to verbal commands indicating that you are not in danger.

So it really is to your advantage dog obedience training to have a protection dog that is able to interpret if their handler has or will be assaulted. With a properly trained dog, this ability dog obedience training doesn’t mean a loss in control or that you aren’t in charge. It just means that your dog is prepared to come to your defense when you need them most.

Unless you are one of the fortunate, dog whistles for training all dog owners have had to deal with a barking problem. The truth is barking is a perfectly natural and all right thing for your dog to do. Think how you would feel if you were never allowed to talk, you would eventually burst out and just say everything on you mind. dog whistles for training It is the same with dogs, the trick to stopping barking isn’t stopping it but controlling it.

Dogs will bark for a variety of reasons including, staking dog whistles for training their territory, telling you what they want, alerting you of danger, when around other animals, when bored or lonely, when cooped up in a dog cage for long dog whistles for training periods of time and when they’ve been encouraged to bark by you (more common then you might think).

The majority of barking problems are because owners will actually reward dog whistles for training their dog for barking wether they realize it or not. This can happen when you yell or get angry at the dog and give them the attention they were after. dog whistles for training

If your dog is outside and starts to bark to be let in and you respond to his wishes, then you are communicating to you dog that all he needs dog whistles for training to do is bark and you will give in. Giving any sort of attention to your dog will encourage him to continue barking. Don’t feel bad dog whistles for training all of us have done this one time or another.

The key to stopping this barking is to ignore your dog, don’t give them what they want and they wont dog whistles for training have a reason to bark. This may be hard on your ears and your neighborhood but simply let them bark until they run out of energy. dog whistles for training Depending on the bread this may be minutes or it over an hour but as soon as you give in all of your progress has been lost. dog whistles for training Try just walking away when your dog starts to bark, go into the other room and do your normal activities.

Eventually your dog will understand that his barking isn’t getting dog whistles for training him anywhere and will stop.

If you dog is barking when the phone rings then the best thing to do is get him used to the sound dog whistles for training of a phone and turn it into something positive. Try calling your house a few dozen times and when your dog beings to bark just ignore him. dog whistles for training If that doesn’t work then hold a treat out in front of him and say a phrase like “stop” or “quite” and when your dog is silent dog whistles for training give him the treat. Eventually after enough training no treat will be necessary to tell your dog to stop barking.

Another common issue with dog barking it when the mail carrier or guests are at the door. dog whistles for training Believe it or not your dog is actually barking out of love for you. He doesn’t know who this person is and naturally thinks they’re dog whistles for training dangerous. After your dog has started barking and the mail carrier goes away you dog thinks that he was the one that stopped the intruder, dog whistles for training encouraging him to bark. The first way I recommend stopping this is by blocking your dogs view of the street or where ever the mail comes dog whistles for training from, this can be difficult based on the lay out of your home but a dog cage can be a useful tool. If that doesn’t work try associating dog whistles for training the mail with something positive like a treat it will encourage him to stop. Either try the previously stated way with a phrase or ask dog whistles for training your mail carrier or guests if he or she would be willing to give you dog a treat when they come by, your dog will then see dog whistles for training new people as a friendly visitor and will await there arrival.

Remember giving any attention to your dog when he barks will encourage the problem to persist. dog whistles for training By putting your dog into a dog cage during common guest hours your dog won’t even be aware of the guest reducing the frequency dog whistles for training of barking.

There was a time when negative dog training was often used. in house dog training Rather than only rewarding the desired behavior, punishment was given for incorrect behavior. Canines are naturally inclined to work, and most have a strong desire to learn as a way to work for a reward. This is why positive obedience training with dog treats is a far better approach.

Human Training in house dog training First

Believe it or not, much of dog training has nothing to do with the dog and everything to do with the human. How you react is vital in house dog training to how quickly your pet will learn. If you are slow to reward dog treats after a major success, then your pet may not pick up in house dog training on why he or she was being rewarded. On the other hand, if you reward too often, your pet may not feel the need to work as hard. in house dog training Find an ideal balance between praise and dog treats. The food reward should be saved for significant advancements while praise and petting can be used for each in house dog training small step achieved.

Be Patient Every Step of the Way

Remain completely patient and avoid reacting negatively out of frustration.

If your pet doesnt seem to understand a step, in house dog training never take it as a personal attack. Dogs are not vengeful, and as humans we are emotional. We often displace our own emotions by applying them to our pets. in house dog training The reality is a dog that seems stubborn may not understand because you are moving too quickly. Take a break, gather more dog treats and start in house dog training again.

If things have become frustrating, and your pet doesnt seem to get the command, it is time to take a few steps backwards. Return to more basic in house dog training steps and see where your pet excels. Once he or she seems to be getting it, you can slowly progress again. Make a point to offer in house dog training dog treats as you did the first time through, especially when steps that your pet didnt understand are successfully executed. Never push yourself and your pet forward in house dog training when he or she is not making progress.

Avoid Fear and Aggression

Dog treats, praise and petting are the only tools you really need to tell your dog he or she is doing in house dog training the right thing. Negative behavior should be replaced, not punished. Do not hit or yell at your dog if he or she does something wrong during in house dog training training. This can cause your pet to fear you. He or she may not understand the behavior was incorrect. As far as they can tell, you randomly in house dog training punished them. Continuing down this path can lead to aggression, should your pet feel the need to become defensive.

That is not to say if your pet does something wrong you should not react. in house dog training Bad behavior should be immediately stopped by removing your pet from the source, accompanied by a firm, deep no. Many pet owners find that this method in house dog training is extremely effective and far more desirable than hitting or other forms of punishment.
